  3. I'm sorry it came to the inevitable end (though I suspect you're not.) These mosaics were something I looked forward to.
Thank you for all your hard work and even more for your insightful comments.

  4. This has been a great service, Mark. Thanks for all your time and effort in figuring this stuff out for us. There were some scenes of Jiminy that I'd always assumed were Kimball's, but it's good to see that there were other animators who could mirror his efforts to keep the Cricket consistent.

Now if this were a more recent Disney feature, there'd still be about 10 more mosaics due to cover the end credits...

  6. Wonderful, Mark! A great resource! Now - which one would you like to do next? ;-)

  7. This is faskinatin' stuff. I'm amazed that this information was even available and at your hard work in making it easy for the rest of us to obtain. Great job!

  8. ha- I always thought that Pinocchio as a real boy looked hideous! His eyes are so much smaller, it makes his cranium look massive, like he's got some sort of physical and mental handicap ;)

Thanks for these, and yes- if you and Hans want to do another one... I'm sure it'd be another great success.

    Sleeping Beauty anyone?

  9. Thanks everybody for the thanks. Truth is, I would have done this for myself out of personal interest in the film, so it's great that I can post it and any other interested people can have access to it.

There are probably two more Pinocchio posts coming, one talking about the end sequence and one talking about the supervising animators.

I will probably do another feature in the future, assuming that I have access to a draft. For the time being, though, I may do more shorts and I may try and analyze a single scene's animation. I really want to get better at writing about animating and the only way that's going to happen is if I sit down and do it.

  11. You really make your mosaics interesting and I really think you deserve credit for you're hard work, Mark.

So, what's your next feature mosaic going to be: Snow White? Alice? Sleeping Beauty? The Sword in the Stone? or more animated shorts?

It sure must take ages to do a mosaic, especially for a feature mosaic, so do take your time, and I hope to see more in the future!
    :-)
