Dear Mark, I love all the work you are doing with this visual drafts......do you think it would be possible to have the "wonderful"Jungle book done that way ?
Lucaf, these mosaics are possible only because Hans Perk has collected these animation drafts and published them on his blog, alfilmla.blogspot.com. If Hans has the draft to The Jungle Book and he posts it, I would definitely do a mosaic for that film.
Stevef, there was a real hot rod car culture in California in the '50s and '60s and I'm sure that the scenes you mention were inspired by that.
Thanks Mark, I will ask Hans, He is not here in Copenhagen studio at this point, but I am shure he has the original Jungle Book draft with him , back in L.A. .....I really hope you will do that one next....or at some point, at list. ....my best
Dear Mark, thank you for your fantastic blog! I was sooo happy to find here all about my beloved (since childhood) pongo & perdita. It's perfect!! The sequences "dog-parade" (scene 11-31) and "Cruella de Vil" (scene 79 - 90) unforgetable!!!
I have always loved the scenics in shot 144. 181.3 is nice too, as I love violent crashes! And to look at all the fantastic detail put into animation of flying autoparts, they pull it off magnificently!

ReplyDeleteWatching this film as a little boy, shots 158-161.1 were the ones that stuck with me. That was the "Whoa! Cool!" moment for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Disney crew ever reached for that kind of moment again until the climax of "Oliver and Company."
Sc. 171 - everyone's worst nightmare/acid fantasy.

ReplyDeleteOne of the funniest fits ever comes right after the car accident.
