Thad has posted about Plight of the Bumblebee, a Mickey Mouse cartoon from the early '50s that was animated, but never finished. Included in Thad's post is the pencil test, something I've never seen before.
Rather than steal Thad's thunder, I'll direct you to his site so that you can watch it.
Hmm.. the bee's reaction to nectar clearly implies alcoholism, despite the constant reference to it as an "allergy". Perhaps it was just too 'adult' a subject for Disney at this point.
ReplyDeleteThis is certainly following the style of Kinney's Goofy films - were they attempting to appeal more to adults, do you suppose? And this 'modern', grown-up trend was finally dropped as 'non-Disney'?
