Persistence of Vision Preview

I've written previously about Kevin Schreck's documentary on the making of The Cobbler and the Thief, Dick Williams' ill-fated feature.  Above is more preview footage of the finished documentary that is making the rounds at festivals.  If you're interested in finding out where it will show, you can check the film's Facebook page.

(I really wish that Schreck would identify the people on screen in these clips.  I'm sure that they'll be identified in the final product, but I'm frustrated not knowing who I'm looking at.  That's Greg Duffell at the 25 second mark, but I have no idea who else is on screen.)

In order of appearance:

Julianna Franchetti, animator
Brent Odell, animator
Chris Knott, special effects artist
Greg Duffell

In the photographs, beside Mr. Williams, is Kaj Pindal, who does not appear onscreen as an interviewee, but did very generously contribute resources and insights to the project.

Anonymous,

No mailing list at the moment, but if you 'like' the Facebook page, you'll get the most up-to-date news on the project:

Can't wait. The film itself (and I've seen every version, including the so-called "original" version, with Williams in the room) is a beautiful mess. Lack of character is the thing that holds it back most. Lots of pretty things moving around a lot gets boring REAL fast-exemplified by this "mammoth ego trip."

All said, I'd admit I'd rather watch Williams's train crash than what became of it. And of course, he has no one to blame but himself.
